HOUSING FUND FOR LINN COUNTY

The Housing Fund for Linn County (HFfLC) is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving quality of life within Linn County. HFfLC offers innovative and flexible funding to expand affordable housing opportunities within the county. Affordable housing projects assist households below 80% AMI and address the mission of the Housing Fund for Linn County.

Applications

The HFfLC generally accepts applications in the spring and fall annually from qualified housing providers needing financial assistance to implement affordable housing projects that will address the mission of the HFfLC. Nonprofit, for-profit, and governmental entities are eligible to apply for funding assistance from the fund of the HFfLC for affordable housing projects located within Linn County. Individual citizens are not eligible to apply for assistance from this fund.

History

Housing Fund for Linn County (HFfLC) was established as a 501(c)(3) in 2007 and certified as an Iowa Housing Trust Fund in 2008. Since 2008, HFfLC has been granted over $5.8 million dollars from the Iowa Finance Authority and has made awards of nearly $5.6 million to over 30 different entities to benefit 2,100 households. Housing Fund for LInn County has also received significant local lender support and as a result of the 2020 derecho, received over $3.4 million on behalf of a collaboration of organizations for the PATCH program.
